Twist, the longhaired orange tabbie, is the oldest and the queen cat.
She wasn't very pleased when Sunnie, the grey, black and white tabbie, and
Alice the little gray and white one, moved in but after a year or so she
got over it. Sunnie and Alice are sisters from the same litter and Sunnie
was supposed to have been Ed's pet but chose Jason as her special person
and Alice was supposed to have been Jason's pet but she decided otherwise
and claimed Ed as ALL HERS but had to learn to share, though she doesn't
like it. Those three were all adopted from
The House of Mews, though
Twist was adopted before they'd even incorporated. Last, but not least
(he's certainly not least, he's the biggest of them all) there's the cat we
know the least about, since we adopted him, literally, off the streets.
Figaro, (who's also been registered with
The House of Mews), the
large black and white cat, was living in the parking lot of our complex and
had adopted Ed as his own special person, racing him up the stairs on
arrival home from work, to beat him to the door and get some quality time
and attention before eating the food that he could have eaten at any
time during the day. As we knew we'd be moving, and didn't want him to be
abandoned a second time, we adopted him. The others all had hissy fits.
He really enjoys looking out the windows and doors of the house and pouncing
on the other cats. The other cats enjoy looking out the doors and windows
too, but not being pounced on.
Now here's a very rare photo. Twist and Figaro are rarely close enough
together to even be in the same camera frame, much less SHARE anything, as
Twist still doesn't like or trust him one bit. But she let supper on this
night overcome her distrust and joined him at the food bowl. When the camera
flashed, she dashed and we haven't seen them together at the bowl since.
